A wee bit more than knee high...

This spring it rained, and rained, and rained.

And then is rained some more. Now it is HOT, and this is what we have:

Corn everywhere.



I took these just before the 4th of July. Over the last few years I have wondered what kind of hybrid mutant corn is growing this high by mid-summer.

I loved this shot so much, I made it my background on my work computer screens. It makes me want to go in and see what might be just beyond the view.


Sometimes the distance between rural and urban isn't that far.


Okay, tell me this isn't the cutest thing you've seen all week!

I'm excited for the end of the season and yummy corn...but I don't want to push the summer along, so I can wait. :)
