She was there too

Last week, after 98 years with us, my Grandmother was called home to be with Grandpa and Aunt Jane.  We all headed to upstate New York to celebrate one of the best Ladies I will even know.  She was a small woman with a strong force built from love and family.  We spent the week doing a lot of the sames things I had grown up doing, but now with another generation of children added.

We got together at my uncle's house (my cousins live next door), set out a lot of food, sat around the table and on the porch and watched the kids run around the yard.  Seriously, that's what we always did at Grandma's house.  Here is my youngest niece playing soccer with cousin Mark - note the dress did not seem to hinder her skills at all!

Here are the three youngest cousins chasing the remote control car around the yard.  It was a hoot to watch.  I'm sure Grandma was laughing.  For the record, the car ran out of steam long before the kids that day.

And since we have part of the barn in the picture anyway, here are a few more shots of my uncle's barn, which is beautiful inside (with electricity and continuous water) and the horses really like it too.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother but what a great celebration of her life.

The little girl in the dress looks so much like my 13 yr old when she was that age! Even down to the shape of that pretty little head! And the color of the hair. My daughter even always wore dresses at that age too!

Great looking barn! I'm sure the horses love the running water.

I'm sorry of your loss. On the lighter note, I immediately noticed the little girl how she try to kick the ball, you've got a pro coming in your family ^_^ Your Uncle's barn is awesome, with electricity and running water nobody could beat that ^_^ Happy Wednesday!

Your grandma will be missed. First I love that first shot...your little niece is going to be a great soccer player.

If that barn has running water and electricity, I know i would be wanting to live in it.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your grandmother... Born in 1913? Oh my goodness, she was born the year after the Titanic sank... 98 years is quite some time on this Earth! God bless her!

The barn is gorgeous. I love the deep dark colored wood & I love the sky in that last shot, how beautiful! =)

Thanks so much for joining in & linking up to Barn Charm =)))

Thank you for the tribute to Grandma. She loved to look out the window at the barn and would have loved to see all the great grandchildren playing out her window.
