If heaven wasn't so far away...

Last night I had a dream.
I suppose I actually dream every night, but last night was a little different.
My friend Nancy and I were going somewhere and just before getting in the car,
my friend Heather showed up and said "hi guys!"
Sounds pretty average, until you consider Heather died last month.

So I looked from Nancy to Heather and said, "I have to tell ya, I'm a little freaked out by this."
Heather just laughed her normal laugh and said
"I know, but it's all right.  Really, it's ok."

We all smiled,
and I woke up, peacefully.

Intellectually and academically I understand how the brain works, how my subconscious uses my down time while sleeping to process my daily thoughts.  And I do think of Heather often. But, I also know the will that Heather has and if she thought we needed to hear something, she was going to come back and tell us.  Even God would understand that she needed to take a break from all that help she is giving him, to pop back down here for a minute and let us know everything is ok.

Thanks, Heather!
M.E.

Oh I think that is nice. My Dad visits me in my dreams, and I am OK with that. B

That is the most warm peaceful feeling! I often feel the presence of my departed loved ones! Heather must have been a very special person to you! Sweet story!

Since my grandmother died, I treasure my dreams of her and am always thankful. So sorry for your loss.

I understand completely. When my younger brother died at age 21 I was beside myself. It took me a year to get over his death. Finally in one particular dream I could see him lying on the couch as he often did with his head propped on his arm. He looked at me and said I'm ok.
Your post has brought back so many memories of that time and how I coped.
I'm so sorry for your loss and glad your dream gave you some peace.
Your photo is lovely and beautifully fits with your thoughts.
