Most of my close up photos today were taken with my pre-set macro setting on the camera. I am continuing to learn how to shoot with manual settings and hope to take a class over the summer to gain an even better understanding of digital photography. But some days, I'm just tired and I want to relax and enjoy the environment or events around me. Bless Nikon for taking over on these days and helping me capture all the gifts around me!
I wanted to share a couple "hearts" I found in the rose bushes.
Heart petals!
I added a little texture to this one. I kind of like how is softens the overall look.
Even in the blooms that are almost gone, a heart is formed by the last couple petals.
(A little texture here too.)
The parts of the garden that were in open areas exposed to the massive amounts of rain and recent high temperatures were definitely on the later stages of blooming. The sections that were under tree shade were in earlier stages of blooming. It made for an interesting contrast while I walked throughout the park. I will post more rose photos over the next week or so.

Your flower hearts are beautiful :)
Gorgeous rosy hearts! We are still getting rain, it's pouring today. My roses haven't even bloomed yet.
Sweet hearts :)

What beautiful rose hearts! Good eye to find them, especially in the heat.
We celebrate our annual "rose festival" for the next couple of weeks and wouldn't you know it, it's been too cold and wet for the roses to bloom! So it's "Rose Festival Without The Rose Part" I guess. I hear we are supposed to get a break this weekend ... no rain for 3 or so days!
Yippie!
Oh, so delicate and beautiful hearts! Pretty pink, and I can almost smell them :-)
Those pink roses are so sweet...love how romantic and old fashioned they are!
There is fading beauty in the rose past its prime... love the photo. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by!!!
Beautiful!! One of my favorite kind of hearts. I love that pink too :D
