I wondered what my animal photos might look like using the same technique. Here is one example.
Here is the color SOOC version from last summer. (You had to know these weren't recent, look at that sun!)
The result is a very different look. Not sure I love it, but I like it enough to keep it in mind with future wildlife photos. I may never get to the skill level of Mr. Brandt, but it's a good goal to try.
More wonderful Black and White Wednesday photos here.

hmmm. i prefer the color version because giraffe color is just so gorgeous, you know? :)
i've used sepia in a few landscapes and one dog portrait.
With the right subject, I like the sepia photos better than colour - it adds a different dimension to the picture and you aren't "distracted" by the colours. The giraffes are ideal - their beautiful patterned coats look so striking.
The 2 on the right look like they might topple!
They are both interesting, but I think I prefer the colored one. The first one has that nice "old post card" look. But the giraffes' beautiful beige and browns stand out nicely against the vivid green background. It's fun to play around! :-)
I am leaning more towards the color one. I like to use B/W n sephia on portrait pics.
I love this shot in black and white - so cool!
