This week we traded 50's and rain for 90's and scorching sun. I was happy to explore the rose garden in a nearby park. It's almost overwhelming, the number and types of roses in this garden. And the smell is amazing!
Most of my close up photos today were taken with my pre-set macro setting on the camera. I am continuing to learn how to shoot with manual settings and hope to take a class over the summer to gain an even better understanding of digital photography. But some days, I'm just tired and I want to relax and enjoy the environment or events around me. Bless Nikon for taking over on these days and helping me capture all the gifts around me!
I wanted to share a couple "hearts" I found in the rose bushes.
Heart petals!
I added a little texture to this one. I kind of like how is softens the overall look.
Even in the blooms that are almost gone, a heart is formed by the last couple petals.
(A little texture here too.)
The parts of the garden that were in open areas exposed to the massive amounts of rain and recent high temperatures were definitely on the later stages of blooming. The sections that were under tree shade were in earlier stages of blooming. It made for an interesting contrast while I walked throughout the park. I will post more rose photos over the next week or so.
