Hard work and wonderful color

These are the thousands of tulips planted in the roadway median in front of my building at work.  Our grounds people really deserve a hand for the groupings like this all over the property.  Just fabulous.

The red ones tend to bloom a week before the white ones, so it is difficult to get them all at once.  You can tell we're close to the end of the red ones in the second photo.  I'm happy they have ridden out the storms rather well.  It was a tad windy this morning, which I didn't compensate for quite as much as I should have in these photos.

This is a great way to start and end the day.  Very cheerful!

It's the little things

Because it was definitely a sunroof-open kind of driving day
with the music up
and the sunglasses on!

Because I've spent more time this week
with spreadsheets and databases
than with people!

And because I was reminded today
how important it is to celebrate
the little things in life.

A Rita's Blendini
chocolate custard, peanut butter ice and Reese's cup bits
all blended together.
Yum!!

Please note,
I parked and ate safely,
enjoying every spoonful.

I hope you had something special today too.

This week's "Inspired"

Every spring when I go into JoAnn Fabrics or Michael's I see these beautiful wreaths.  I decided this year I would be inspired to make my own.  So here is the final product.  I'm not sure what prompted me to get the bright blue ribbon, but once I picked it up I just couldn't put it back on the shelf!  I love the color and for me, it makes is just a little bit different than others you might see in the neighborhood.

A little Sunday Glory

Here is my first tulip bud in the garden this spring.
You can see my local critters have been snacking on the them as they come up.
We'll see what survives!

These tulips were planted a few years ago in front of my office building.  They rotate planting seasonally, so when they pulled the bulbs, the grounds folks encouraged us to take them home.  Otherwise, they would have been mulched up and never seen again.  So this is year three on these recycled tulips and they make me smile every time another one pops.

BTW, it was 84 degrees and sunny today...in April...Amen!

05 April 2011

So busy at work these days that my time at home and taking photos is limited.  However, I did get to see stunning blue skies today at lunch.  And let me tell you, when you go as long as we have between days like this, just seeing fluffy clouds can completely make the day.

More fun stuff tomorrow - after 8 hours of computer software training, ugh!

Welcome Spring!

Hallelujah - It's finally spring!

(Did anyone else wonder if winter was going to take over this season too?)

Let the sunshine commence!

More Macro Monday at Lisa's Chaos.
