The calender says it is technically still winter, but look at
what the weather prediction is for next week!
It has already been in the mid 70's for a couple days, prompting these beauties to appear:
In Washington DC, the cherry blossoms are starting to bloom early,
causing the National Park Service to up the start date on the festival
season.
My weeks have been a bit busy, so I just got around to making homemade broccoli/cheese soup. It was delicious eating it out on the porch! I found the recipe at Belle's Bazaar. (My broccoli and potatoes were a bit chunkier, because that's my preference. Her version looks more professional.)
I'm sure I will try a few of the other ones on the blog. So yummy!
I hope you are having a good week!
M.E.
That soup looks good! We have also had a mild winter in Toronto, I saw several people out in shorts today. I like it!
ReplyDeletecrazy early spring/winter! :)
ReplyDeleteI had a good week. I photographed my daffodils on Sat. and then on Tues. a.m. we woke up to a bit of snow, an inch. I peeked outside and the daffodils were drooping and had snow on them so I went out for 5 min and took a few photos. We aren't even close the 70s yet. More wind and rain coming tonight.
ReplyDeleteWe have been working out in the yard for the last 3 days, cleaning up from the winter, preparing new beds and closing old ones...I love it! Hoping the weather holds for the weekend trip to the mountains! I loved the daffodil, and the soup looked positively yummy! I like the larger chunks too...
ReplyDeleteThis has been one crazy winter/spring...my fear it that April is going take a turn n be cold n rainy! I guess enjoy it while you can!
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING the warm. And your soup looks great - I like chunky, too.
ReplyDeleteYour soup looks yummy...the weather here is off the scale too....the farmers are moaning (no change there) that we haven't had enough rain... I'm loving this weather but we'll be being for it somewhere along the line... :)
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather this year everywhere. Lovely daffodil--
ReplyDeletespring is here. Your soup looks delicious. Mickie :)
